President's Acceptance Speech

RSC President Ainul 'Noche' Mabaning delivers her acceptance speech during the Induction Ceremony of the newly elected Officers of Riyadh Shuttlers Club (RSC).

Honarable Rosarion Malicse, Mr. and Mrs. Nawawi Mabaning, Presidents of the other clubs, guests, ladies and gentlemen, Good evening.

The beauty of friendship lies in its ability to withstand the test of time and adversity. This is the beauty found also in the Riyadh Shuttlers Club. For a period of over 4 years, the Riyadh Shuttlers Club has been a witness to an array of challenges and adversities. In these 4 years, the RSC has stood resilient.

If you look around you today you will see that so much has changed. However, so much of the spirit that has brought all of us together is still alive. We, as not merely a badminton club but also a family have together learned valuable lessons that have been crucial to the existence of the RSC. Yes dear friends, some of these lessons have even cost us so much. Together, we have faced a multitude of obstacles and we have chosen never to give up and never to lose hope.

Indeed, we are all here because we certainly have one thing in common. And that is our love for badminton. It is through this love that we have forged a bond of affection and respect for each other and therefore became a family. It is this love that has given us countless opportunities to become better people.

Fellow RSCeans, I think we all agree that it is this protectiveness for the goodness of our Club that has brought all to this point in time. In behalf of the Incoming Officers for the Program Year 2007-2008, I would like to apologize that we cannot make miraculous promises. We can however assure you that your best interests will always be our priority. We will not pledge ourselves into a competition or a comparison of who knows what’s best for the Club. On the other hand, we can assure you that in this case, in OUR case, the Club will decide what’s best. We are honored that you have given us your trust and confidence. In return we can only offer you our best. Yes, the year ahead of us holds so many questions and uncertainties. Because of this, I appeal not only to the Incoming Officers but also the RSC Members that we join hands to at least make this year a memorable and fruitful one. Let us all, unite ourselves and fight anything that can threaten our integrity as a Club and as a family. So I thank you all for joining us here tonight. To the RSC Outgoing Officers, for keeping the ship afloat, for the memories and for the strength, God bless you all. To the RSC Incoming Officers, all of whom this day would not have been made possible, I am personally proud to be working alongside all of you. To the wonderful couple who have always seen to it that even during the toughest times, their support to the RSC is unwavering, my parents, the Father and Mother of the RSC, Mr. and Mrs. Nawawi Mabaning, my heartfelt gratitude goes to you. To the IPSR Administration and our friends, thank you for supporting the RSC.

So let us all begin this Program Year with this in mind “When we hurt each other we should write it down in the sand, so the winds of forgiveness can make it go away for good. When we help each other we should chisel it in stone, so that we never forget the love of a friend”… This ladies and gentlemen is what keeps the RSC alive. So I ask of you, let us keep the RSC alive. Have a pleasant evening and God bless you all….

The Shuttlers

Officers and Members of Riyadh Shuttlers Club

The moment "THE SHUTTLERS" hold their rackets, there's no stopping them from the
smashes, slicings, backhands, etc. inside the court.
But "THE SHUTTLERS" considers a game as a test of perseverance, patience and supremacy
not by winning the game but by experiencing the inevitable fun of having great times with
friends and colleagues.
